I like reading and knitting in bed,but can't knit lying flat on my back,so I tend to recline, propped up against my continental cushion.

I think one could make the argument that deeply reclined can be considered lying down.

It all sounds so beautifully meditative.... Ohmmmmm...K1 SSK Ohmmmm.....

I like to knit that way in bed- but only for small projects (like socks.) For some reason I find it uncomfortable with larger things.

I can't say that I've tried to knit lying down, but I don't think it would be comfortable for me. I used to knit in bed, but sitting up leaning against a backrest thingy. Once I bought an armchair, though, I don't enjoy knitting in bed anymore.

Don't your neck and arms hurt after a while?
