I was in Target today, decided to look at the handbags for something to use for my knitting. Was pleasantly surprised! I found little Hobo Bags by xhilaration, original price $9.99, sale price $2.49! They are just the right size for six small balls of yarn, circular needle and knitting. I bought two for some WIPs that have been residing in Shoprite bags. Maybe I'll be more inclined to pick up a WIP if it's in a pretty bag!

And if not, they'll be neatly decorative around the house. LOL

Clearance handbags make great WIP holders. I'm watching for the garden totes to go on clearance as well.

very funny Donna! Are you implying I'd rather knit than do housework? Who wouldn't?
Unfortunately, I'm off to vacuum. But maybe I'll knit one more row first......

And I found a great sock bag in my closet.....I had purchased a set of three bags last year for travel (cosmetics, etc.) at Mashalls - I think all three were less than $4 - and one of them is perfect for a small project. They're all bright, fun colors and have a clasp on them so I can hook it to whatever else I'm carrying or myself! Bet I have a few more "perfect" bags if I'd just look for them :)

Not inexpensive , but-----
Our Country Trunk rep was in the other day and brought in the most beautiful, large bag.
It is hand tooled leather-reminicent of the 40's handbags from Mexico.
Each bag is handmade to order by a mexican saddlemaker and his wife.
I ordered one for myself to put in the shop on display-We will take special orders on it.
It is beautiful enough to "wear", although it may be too large for some.
Definately worth checking out is your store carrys CT,
Their brochure really does not do it justice-you need to see itin person. KL |

I have scored great bags at Target -- in fact my current summer handbag is one, my longtime knitting bag is another, and a wonderful huge red tote -- which is my Maryland Sheep and Wool bag! -- is the third.

Dust buffaloes? You should wait until you get dust elephants like mine. Imply you'd rather knit than clean? Good heavens, no! No sane individual would pick cleaning over knitting.

We have cat hair tumble weeds... If I ever decide to vacuum rather than knit I think I'll have myself committed..

Sounds like I need to check out Target on my next shopping trip.
It would be nice to have a couple of bags onhand for secret pal exchanges and the like. ;)
asblueskies...I also use a cosmetic bag for small projects. They work great, especially for toting projects to work. :)

I'm so glad you found them! I wish I could go tomorrow but my son is having six friends (including my two, that's eight teenagers) over for a sleepover Friday to Saturday. It will be a night of XBox and horror movies and very little sleep.
Hopefully I'll be recovered by Sunday and can take a trip to the mall. Need to go to Borders anyway (always need to go to Borders whether i need to or not!).

| K-Mart has some beautiful inexpensive tote bags. Check out Walgreen's too. They sometimes get nice ones for a low price. Blessings, Beverly |
