See, I kept it clean!
I'm making this simple shell out of Hempathy. Knit in the round, stst (IK Summer 2004 Stripes go round). I'm making in solid black, no stripes, so it's really mindless. Perhaps too mindless?
Right after the garter stitch hem you are supposed to switch to larger needles and increase 12 stitches evenly. In the words of Steve Martin: I for-got!
I got to where you divide for the armholes and when I was going around, counting stitches, putting some on holders for the armhole, I realize I don't have enough stitches. Ya know, I thought when I was knitting it looked a little small, but I figured, hemp, cotton, negative ease, it'll be alright.
Arghh! That was 232 stitches for 13.5 inches with #3 needles. Not exactly swift knitting. And now I get to do it all over again, only this time at the correct 244 stitches. Oh yay! Oh joy!
I'd look for another pattern to use this yarn just for lack of boredom, but I really like this pattern. And I'd like to wear it this summer.

I have a nice bottle of Chardonnay I'll split with you if that will help while frogging...

That's so nice! I decided to do the first five rows tonight--that's the garter hem and the increases, then switch to something else the rest of the night. Something with a bigger gauge, fewer stitches to the inch, so I can have a little sense of completion. Green Gable I think. I have some cotton fleece and I've been wanting to make it.
But man, I was hoping to wear this Hempathy sweater next week.

Okay, I think I just got a sign I should find another calling. I just bought Green Gable from Zephyrstyle. When I went to download the pattern there was an error with the download, and the download page refused to let me try again! I emailed the designer, but I certainly don't expect to hear back from her on a Friday night. Guess I'll need to start something else!
pieheart, wondering what exactly I did in a past life to deserve this (yeah, yeah, I can be a drama queen!)

UGH...yeah, I think I would take it as a sign that I was not meant to start that pattern right now, as well! Not sure what to tell ya, other than maybe it's time to work on some UFO from the bottom of the basket for a while?
