There is a hat in a photo of Tom Crean, Antarctic explorer, from a famous 1914 expedition, that my husband wants. I admit the photo is on a beer bottle - Endurance Pale Ale. Any ideas on how to find a pattern for it?

You wouldn't happen to have the photo to post, would you?

To me it looks like the hats where it is just 2 rectangles sewn
together with little tassles sewn at the top points.

It would be pretty easy to just knit in the round, then kitchener the top straight across, or bind off both rows at once, then tack on some tassels. It could even be double knit for extra warmth, if necessary. This is a very stylish men's hat!

This Nezumi hat pattern is a spin-off/sort-of-cousin of the one on the beer label. It could be very easily adapted to your needs, ie. wider, longer, floppier, sans cables, w/tassels, etc.
