Hi! This question has been bothering me for eternity it seems: what is a garter carriage and what does it do? Please send me a link to some info about it or give me a brief review yourself, because this prying question has been itching me for too long! :)

It's a knitting machine accessory, made to suit Brother standard gauge machines. It's used instead of the regular knit carriage, and it automatically produces garter stitch patterns - knitting and purling across each row in whatever combinations you set. It doesn't just produce garter stitch, but any plain and purl patterns. It's mains powered, but it doesn't go very fast.

I haven't looked for any links, but I'm sure if you Google (images)for garter carriage, something will come up.
