I'm on my sixth pair! I can't stop! Help! All I want to knit is socks! Socks are fairly simple once you "get it". That pattern above is very easy and you will see that soon you won't even need the pattern. Just jump in and start. The first pair I made look kind of funny here and there a mistake or two but I finished them. I first thought that toe up would be easier but now I only knit top down. The reason I like top down is because I can cast on loose but to cast off loose is a bit more difficult for me.

I just started making socks last year, and found the Yankee Knitter Pattern for socks, very helpful and it has a variety of yarn weight and sizes....Great basic pattern and very easy to follow.....
Good Luck!

Google "universal sock pattern." I just tried to get it to post the exact link, but the server is down right now. At any rate, there is a TERRIFIC universal top-down pattern, adaptable to tiehr four or five needles and to any size foot or yarn gauge.
Life is too short to waste it on acrylic. |
