I have 1000 yards of worsted weight bamboo... it's a slightly variagated yarn in greens and browns and blues. I'd like to make a sweater, but I was hoping for something a little fancier than just a plain stst, but it can't get too detailed because of the colors in the yarn... It's a VERY lightweight yarn, so something summery would be perfect.

What is the best simple but interesting stitch pattern you've found?

how about garter stitch or seed stitch. i like the texture in both of those stitches and they seem to work with varigated yarns okay.
