| I really want to buy some of the cashmere that we got recently at the shop where I work -- but, of course, it's got a big price tag. I want to figure out something that I can make from just one skein. I can't remember for sure, but I want to say it's 87 yards, worsted weight. Not enough to make a hat, which is too bad, cause hats are my favorite things to knit. Any suggestions? |

I dunno about this. Last year I was felting a hat and I think it was Bev Galaska( sp) I was working from. Anyway - she had a 'neck warmer' in it. I'm going to find the pattern & make it this year. You knit it up, felt it (which you Won't be doing to cashmere), fill it full of rice or beans, nuke it & wear it around your neck. The cashmere would feel lovely. Just an idea. I'm so cold natured; anything or idea that retains heat is a GOOD thing. mwyn

you couold use it on the ends of a scarf.. say knit up 1/2 the ball.. match it to anotehr color, knit that yarn until done then add the other 1/2 of the cashmere. if you do it as an accent color it would be nice.

What about a thick headband that you can wear when it is cold...sort of like a neckwarmer but connected? I think that would be so nice and warm and toasty, and I often prefer headbands because they don't flatten my hair so much.

Or just the cuff of a hat... the part that would rub on your forehead and ears... mmm....

| Ah, those are all such good ideas...thanks!! I might go with the cuff-of-a-hat thing - I'm liking the sound of that. :) |
