520 yards -- two skeins. I don't know what I was thinking when I bought only two skeins of this stuff! It's really gorgeous, and I'd LIKE to make a shawl with it (lacy?), but I don't think this is really enough. I had a thought of an Old Shale-esque shawl, for example... Any ideas? Or should I just order more yarn now that I know how yummy it is?
Thanks,

I'm so glad you like as I ordered 3 skeins myself and still waiting for my package. You could strand along with something else or introduce & alternate with a complimentary solid? Of course you can order more !

A tank top in those colors would be really beautiful, too... but since it's looking like I'll be spending my summer in either Cairo or Italy, I think a wool tank top would be a horrible idea!
I balled the yarn up yesterday, and it is just so nice. Still muttering about what to do with it, though!

| Aren't evenings in both Cairo and Italy cool at times in the summer, especially Cairo? A small, elegant-looking wrap would be just the thing. Something more on the order of a stole instead of a shawl. You could do a rather lacy pattern and it wouldn't be too thick and heavy but would be just right for those air-conditioned spaces that seem to be 'icy' and/or cooler evenings. |
