I wanted to know if anyone knew where to buy this ball winder. It was mentioned in an earlier thread as being a "good one". I have the small, plastic winder that you can buy for $35 - 40 in a LYS, mine is wearing out after about a year of abuse. I wanted to buy a better quality one that would last, and have the capacity to wind more yarn.
Is this the wooden winder that is advertised from time to time in the knitting mags?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Kristin

Hi Kristin,
My husband gave me the Strauch Jumbo Ball Winder for my birthday. He also purchased it from Carolina Homespun and it was around $75.00. I like the ball winder a lot -- it feels and works great! I like it so much that I have it on display in my house. =)
Hope you enjoy it too! Caitlyn

Have to put in a plug for our own Barbara Gentry, Stony Mountain Fibers, in Charlottesville - she sells them, too - I got mine from her.

| We bought one at a fiber festival. Otto led us directly to Stony Mountain's booth to help us find the winder and then he even autographed it for us. :) |
