Hi,
Does anyone have any suggestions for knitting software for the Macintosh?
Thank you, Kristin

As I understand it, the only option for Mac is a program called Garment Designer, which is for sewing as well. Because it seems so geared toward sewing, I am personally suspicious of it, but I have no experience with it. I run Virtual PC on my Mac which is a software program that runs Windows programs on a Mac. I use Sweater Wizard with it and have no problems with it. And actually, you can probably buy both Sweater Wizard and Virtual PC for close to the same price as Garment Designer. Sweater Wizard is a fairly basic program, and the same company sells compatible programs for charting stitch patterns, but Sweater Wizard will give you basic schematics and written pattern instructions for all sweater styles.
Here's a website for the two companies: http://www.software4knitting.com/ http://www.cochenille.com/garm.html
and Virtual PC: http://www.apple.com/macosx/applications/virtualpc/
