I want to make a hooded, zippered sweater pattern that uses Rowan Cork, which has been discontinued...so does anyone know of a good substitute? It's a bulky weight wool/nylon blend - I think the gauge is around 14 sts per inch or so.
(is it the Bless pattern by any chance? I'm looking to do that one also!) Elann.com has some that are in that gauge range. Webs (yarn.com) also still has come cork in a nice light caramel color.
or you could get some Rowan cork from Jeanette's Rare yarns on ebay. She has some fabulous deals on it now. Go to eBay and do a search for Rowan cork and you will find it. This yarn is great, so I would say use it if you can. Anything that is bulky would be a good substitute though. Try knitpicks or elann.com if you want something less pricey.
