And I already spun up a full bobbin of some dark teal Coriedale, I want to make a hat from! I can't wait for those babies to dry so I can knit something with them, how long do I have to wait?? |

Pixie those yarns look yummy! I am not sure how long you need to wait though. I finished a big bobbin of purple yesterday and it's still damp. I have it hanging near the woodstove now to speed up the process! I am hoping by tonight I can wind it into a skein and start knitting something.
You have such a nice twist in your yarn. Did you ply it?
Looks great! Enjoy the process.......

yes, I'm not really big into the look of single ply yarn, I'm sure will gain an apprechiation for it though now that I learn what goes into it to make it good!
My singles always curl up on themselves which I read means it's unbalanced, but if it doesnt curl up on itself you can just pull it apart easily. My plied yarn hasn't done any curling at all which I take it is a good thing.

Well, is it dry? Are you knitting? edit to say this isn't a sassy reply to pixie's last post, but I'm just wondering if it's dry and if she's knitting her hat. [blush]

lol :) well I tried it on a size 8 needle and it was hard to knit, I am not sure what size to knit it on. I think I'll try a 10.5 next and see! I am in denial as to how large my yarn is LOL! I was gonna do a wristlet but well it was just hurting my hands on my addi turbo's. If it's big yarn I prefer to knit on bamboo in the flat.
I am kinda disapointed, so I'll wait and try again tommorow and see if it goes better!

Your spinning is lovely! I've been known to turn up the heat in the house to over 70 degrees just to dry my yarn so I can knit. Goodthing my DH is a fiber-lover too![:00]

ohhh wow, me and my husband are always cold, our house is 70 at night and between 71 and 74 durring the day! I like it at 72 or 73 I think, husband sometimes goes to extreme and puts it to 74, and then it get s tad hot.
At 70 we have on bathrobes and socks! lol
