The last week in July, I was off at a medical conference. I had my sock project along with the hopes of finishing the second sock. I brought along the first sock so I could ensure the second sock was the same size and had the same number of repeats, etc. I was on the flight home and the gentleman sitting next to me said "Oh, do you have The Curse of the Second Sock?"...no, I said. That's the Curse of the Love Sweater. For socks, it's Second Sock Syndrome. Obviously, he was a knitter's husband!! He kept asking about The Curse and I assured him there was no curse whilst I was knitting my second sock.
The Curse must have morphed because (don't scream) I left the bloody sodden first sock in the seat pocket in front of me when I got off the plane. And, no, it wasn't turned in to the airline's Lost & Found. Now I have a nearly finished second sock and the Koigu I used is a discontinued colour and what ever will I do with just one lovely Koigu sock????? I suppose I could give it to DH to see if he flees...
Never mock The Curse...it will get you one way or another .

Somewhere I'll bet there's a golf club wearing a beautiful Koigu sock.

Oh my goodness Mari! I would have yelling every 4-letter word known to man, and probably made up a few in the process. Maybe one of the good knitter here has your color? You could always frame it and create a new form of art.

Sew buttons on it and fuzzzy ears and make a puppet out of it.

Mari, So sorry to hear about your sock. My friend left her ipod on the plane and of course it was never turned into lost and found.
