This may sound like a silly question but I was wpndering if it was possible to use the two circ method for hats like you do for socks. I am really tired of using DPN and one circ. Has anyone tried this and does it work? |

I use two circs for any type of in the round knitting that I possibly can do, so yes, you can! The one thing I've tried that it doesn't work for is in the round entrelac (ie the market squares bag).

Luci--
I start out my hats on a 16" circular, and then switch to 2 circulars when my stitches start to cramp around the needles (usually about 50 sts., depending on the yarn) and continue with the two circular method for the decreases all the way up to the last three stitches or so. There are good explanations of the 2 circular method here and here.

| Yes, it works just fine, and you do not need to switch to DPNs at any point; the 2-circ method can accommodate any number of stitches. |

I've used it, and Magic Loop, for in-the-round entrelac, so it does work for that. :)

| I often use two circular needles in situations where I would once have used dpns. I did not mind working with dpns, but I prefer the two circs because when I jam my knitting in my purse, they never drop stitches! Sarah. |
