This week, in a very special edition of Knitter's Review...
China has brought us many exciting fiber innovations over the last decade, from bamboo to crab shells, jade, milk, and soy. Today, thanks to an enterprising ex-reindeer-herder in the Evenk Autonomous Banner of Inner Mongolia, we have an extraordinary new fiber on the horizon.
What fiber is it? And how much does it cost? Find out.

Not a bad price for the yarn for the Swallowtail Shawl when you consider the pattern is free.
April 2010 already, imagine.

And the nice thing is that you wouldn't encounter any pilling problems on a Swallowtail Shawl. Especially with all those plies. If you do decide to knit a shawl, GFTC, I do hope you'll share progress photos!

Hahaha! I wasn't taken in as easily as with the even crazier idea of recycled cat litter!! I loved the price per skein

Love the idea of the delicate little fibers resting between processing steps!

My first thought was, "Is this April fools?" Oddly enough, when I read the cat litter story last year, though I thought it was sick, I thought it was serious. Guess I learned, and was not so gullible this time. Thanks for the smile to start my day!

Just as I opened the email I thought, "Some of these are going to be April Fool's jokes" So I was primed when I saw Quackmere!
