This week I decided to step aside from a particular product and focus on a bigger picture: inspiration. I took a good wander through my favorite bookmarks and plucked 9 of my very favorite sites. But that's just the beginning. Let's create one mega-list of the best of the best sites for ideas and encouragement. What are your favorites?

One of my favorite reads is http://needled.wordpress.com/ Kate lives in Scotland, takes wonderful photos, inspires me with her knitting, designs and offers a wonderful, realistic attitude about life and living despite having suffered a stroke.
Of course there is always the http://www.yarnharlot.ca/blog/when you need a laugh or reassurance when you've done something not nearly inspiring ....

Thank you for your "9 of my favorite sites" I loved them. The Pictory on handmade really touched my heart. Today I Love also. It seems we are bombarded daily by horrible news and sadness. These web sites make you stop and re connect with what is really important, the reaching back and touching the hand of the person behind, next too or in front of you. I always start my classes with the thought that what hands have made for hundreds of years before us have created who we are today.

The site I usually go to first is http://www.crazyauntpurl.com. I know whatever I'm facing she will have an insight into a facet of it, plus knitting! Then I head over to KnitPicks to drool over the lucious yarns. If only I could feel them!

I think what you said about Mason Dixon Knitting was so perfect. Some bloggers have their heads in the clouds (some have their heads somewhere else but we won't go there) and can't come down to earth and mingle w/ mere mortals. Ann & Kay are the total opposite of that -- not exclusionary at all. They're just down-to-earth people and you wish they lived next door to you!

Spinningkat, really great photo site. The photos are wonderful; so evocative of a time, a place, a people. Thanks for sharing.
