I recently made a pair of slippers that I am going to felt and the directions for felting talk about using a detergent free of enzymes and optical bleach.

I don't know what this means. Is there a name brand detergent that someone can recommend to me that is free of enzymes and optical bleach? Something I don't have to order online, that I can just go purchase?

Use good old Ivory dish wash detergent, but you do not need a lot. A tablespoon is plenty.

Like kkknitter,I use a few drops Ivory dish wash detergent.
