For US folks, the first episode airs tonight at 9pm.
Will Matthew and Mary/ Bates and Anna get together? Who will fight the war? So many things to look forward to, I am planning on a garter stitch or stockinette stitch project tonight.
UK folks -- warn us if you're posting spoilers ;)

Here in Phoenix, AZ, it's at 8pm (not all PBS stations have the same schedule.) Meanwhile, take this quiz to see which D.A. character you most closely resemble: http://www.weta.org/tv/picks/downtonabbey/quiz
I'm Bates!

Man, I'm really going to have to get on this Downton Abbey thing. You all seem to be having so much fun with it. If I could just. finish. the Forsyte Saga...

Sorry Nancy, I forgot about the time zones *and* the difference in schedules between PBS affiliates.
Thanks for the link, that was fun! I'm Matthew Crawley :)

I just found this series and watched the first 7 episodes before the new season started. We are totally addicted....just love it all!

I am not going to say how many scenes in the first episode made me teary-eyed, it's too embarrassing...

| I tried taking the test but there weren't enough choices for me - I ended up Violet! Although I liked the idea that I'd get the best lines, I'm not that rigid by far. Guess there aren't any creative types on the show. Wonder if we'll ever see again the maid that went off to be a secretary. I really liked her. |

I knew it was only a matter of time until a parody version surfaced - and what a treat it is! Made for Britain's "Red Nose" day (their version of Comic Relief), it boasts excellent scenic and costume effects, and a priceless cast that includes Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley (Edina and Patsy of Ab Fab)-and just for us, a knitted character (and O'Brien's hair). http://youtu.be/r5dMlXentLw
There's also a second episode covering the fictional "making of" Uptown Downstairs Abbey. http://youtu.be/p3YYo_5rxFE
