Has anyone used this yarn? I bought the alligator scarf kit a few years ago (before the pattern was available by itself). I don't like the way it feels. I made the alligator scarf with some other yarn I had on hand and used the Gator yarn for several hats. Today I got one of their purse kits in the mail. I still don't like the way it feels as I'm winding it into balls from the hanks.

I'm also confused about the weight. The pattern says that it's sport weight yarn with tight twist; 225 yards per skein (the website says that it's 2 oz). I weighed the skeins and they are about the same as a ball of Paton's Classic Wool (which I do like the feel of, by the way), which the label says 223 yards/3.5 oz. The Gator yarn seems to be the same thickness, too.

Does anyone else have any experience with this yarn? I really hate to put this under this topic. I don't want to say "never again".

Personally I really like Morehouse Yarn. But then I think its beauty is how rustic it feels. I know that some people don't like how merino pills. If that bothers you then don't use it for something that gets a ton of rubbing.

Clara once did a review of their laceweight: http://www.knittersreview.com/article_yarn.asp?article=/review/product/020725_a.asp I think it sums up how I feel about Morehouse.

I am sorry you don't like it. :D Perhaps you can set up a trade? I know I would take some in trade from you for something else!

I tried to use the yarn that came with a Gator kit years ago. The yarn I received was not twisted at all, and it regularly broke. I abandoned the yarn and the pattern.
