This is a very funny book. It is a laugh-out-loud-on-the-bus book. Kind of similar to Richard Russo's "Straight Man" in its grumpy humor.

Bonus: Bernadette is a knitter. It takes 100 pages or so to learn that, but she is.

Edited to add: most of the book is set in Seattle, and she nails it.
