6mm cube beads with numbers on them and 4mm holes. They slip easily onto the Addi click cords. I use numbers that state the total length from tip to tip. To keep them on the cords, I use inch-long-or-so pieces of plastic tubing. They grab the cords a little bit.

When I'm using a cord and the beads have to come off, I slip them onto a wooden matchstick (I burned off the igniting end and then cut thoe burnt end off with scissors), Plastic tubing that fits the matchstick keeps the bead in place, which I then store in a small ziplock bag.

I got tired of trying to read the length numbers on the cords. Sometimes I just plain need to know the length.

Great idea, Ceil. I keep mine in a binder I purchased from Cabelas by needle size and just grab whichever cable length I think will work but I like your idea.

I forgot to mention that there are 80 number beads in a package, but you can use the others. The holes are way big enough to slip on locking-type stitch markers. I used them recently to keep track of the number of decreases ina sleeve, because ther werent enough markers avaialble to mark them all. Use them fir anything you have to count,
