Top ten reasons to buy yarn:
Doesn’t have to be watered, fed, repotted or pruned.
Doesn’t have a shelf date.
Doesn’t need to be walked, groomed or fed. And it doesn’t shed. Usually.
Doesn’t need a sitter when you go out. Or someone to watch it while you’re on vacation.
Doesn’t need its litter box changed.
Doesn’t raise your blood pressure. Or your bad cholesterol.
Never talks back or asks to use the car and then returns it with the tank on empty or borrows your handpainted yarn socks and washes them in the machine on hot.
Makes a great interior design color splash even if you never use it.
Never changes the channel to a sports program.
And number one: isn’t fattening.

Is not represented by other yarns in my stash.
Equal representation of each yarn type is crucial after all.
It also does not whine, hog the remote, forget to call to tell you where it is, drink too much or want sex when you have to get up for an early meeting in the morning.
Let's not forget that it is cheaper than crack, has fewer side effects and keeps you off the streets. That is VERY important.

It insulates the house during winter when you line the walls with it
Its a great conversation starter in any room or business meetings ([:00])
It keeps all those pesky circular needles full and occupied so that they don't tangle up amongst themselves[:00]

In addition... - It fills your world with colour;
- It doesn't require a prescription;
and - It has no calories!

It doesn't get jealous
It won't tell you how to cook
It will keep you warm without expecting anything back
It can be left alone or not called for days, weeks or even months and years without getting angry or starting an arguement
If the yarn you have isn't giving you what you need you can always get more, no long talks needed It won't require any meetings, no weight watchers, AA, sexaholics anamoyous, you name it, you don't have to go. [:00]

Reason #1: IT WANTS ME!! I mean who else could give it a better home? Besides, it winked at me first.

Why? wonderful, lovely, giddy-inducing yarn!!! That's why!
Even my dogs get into it! When I bring a new skein home and show it to them to sniff, they always think it's a new woobie for them to play with! Luckily, they leave it alone once I break it to them that it's MINE ALL MINE!!!!! |

| Love all your answers, but I must admit that I buy because the texture and colors seduce me and there are so many things a woman can do with a ball of yarn that can't be done with anything else. |

its a way to pamper myself, that isn't fattening (like chocolate) and it is our medium- you wouldn't expect Michelangelo to go without marble, would you? I am an artiste as I artfully toss my handknit scarf over my shoulder :-)

More reasons to buy yarn:
It doesn't give you a hangover the next morning.
No need to send a thank you note.
Doesn't smell funny.
Never says, tofuburgers again?
Never gets funny green mold on it.
Waits patiently for you no matter how long you take. |
