Does anyone have a suggestion for a leather knitting bag? I would like it to be able to hold medium size projects - and to close- Thanks for your help!

| I have a leather tote from LL Bean. It doesn't have the inside pockets that most knitters want, but I really like it. I purchased the large one when I was teaching, but it would be great for large projects. They do have a medium sized one that would work well. |

I've seen the Jordana Paige Knitting Satchel in person and it's gorgeous. Really drool-worthy. Now if it only came filled with some handmaiden sea silk...

I have a fake leather tote I found at Kmart a few years ago, and it's been a great knitting bags at times. It has a small zipped pocket inside along with a couple pencil loops (needle loops!) and cellphone sized pockets (only too deep for the modern cell). It also has an outside zipped pocket. I like it because it's deep, and was great for toting several items or a larger project when I had a knitting group to meet with. It has also doubled as a travel tote, for non-knitting use. I don't think it's still available, but it's a basic style that often repeated by many manufacturers. Leather looks classy, but simple. I think it's a great choice, especially when the design really speaks to your personal style.

I have a Stone Mountain leather bag I often use for knitting projects. It's lined, (no leather fuzzy stuff on your yarn) has pockets, and plenty of places to store stuff. I bought my bag from an outlet mall in North Carolina, but you can look at their bags here-- www.stonemountainhandbags.com

I have two commercial purses that I carry knitting in that I love.
One is a green suede bag (like this: http://www.eddiebauer.com/eb/product.asp?product_id=30679&nv=5 but a different color) I got from Eddie Bauer last year. It's huge, and the lining is cotton with a few zippered pockets, including one that divides the bag in half down the middle. I use it when I need to carry both books and knitting, though it could be a good carry-on for a plane trip. I particularly love that there is no plastic or vinyl or anything else that will sit forever in a landfill in the bag.
The other is a black leather bag from Jones New York, and it's also pretty big. It has several inner pockets, including one that is the perfect size to hold a sock-in-progress. I can't find a picture of it on the web, but I got it from TJ Maxx for about $60. Well worth it--I'll be using this bag for years and years, both as a purse for work and a knitting bag.

I found them on QVC! YES! I see a few that would make excellent knitting bags. I just ordered the A3508
