| A friend of mine is heading off to the Kentucky Derby this weekend, and she offered to place a $2 bet for each person in our office. Knowing nothing about racing, my stategy was to pick a horse with a name that "spoke" to me. In this year's Run for the Roses, I'll be cheering for horse #8, Hard Spun!!!! |

It was a great race this year. Hand Spun is a really good horse and I hope will run in the other 2 races of the Triple Crown.

I don't follow horse racing, but I told my husband just before the race that my horse was Hard Spun, due to the knitting relation. OMG, was I excited as the race was run and he was awesome, and then placed #2. You go, horse!

Looks like Hard Spun, Curlin, and Street Sense are shifting around in the 1, 2, and 3 spots for the Triple Crown. He was a pretty third in the Preakness yesterday. Here's hoping that the third time's a charm if he runs in the Belmont!
These are the only three races I follow each year. Given the 3 to 4 hours of TV time leading up to two minutes of race, there's lots of time to knit! |
