Anyone else got a case of this? Since this weekend I have started a vest from a Knitting Pure and Simple Pattern, a bag from the first Sally Melville book (can't remember the name, made with ribbon yarn) and the blanket that is the March project from Knitter's Almanac (in my odd balls of Kureyon). AND I'm planning to start socks tonight. This is in addition to the stuff already on the needles (socks, shetland lace shawl and an Alice Starmore Aran that only needs about 3 inches on one sleeve saddle....) Anyone else in this predicament?

I have got it soooo bad - the promise of fall always gets me fingers itchin' but this year is the worst. I have decreed this week "finiacrylicis" and am trying to make a clean sweep of a few almost-done things so that I can get going with a clear conscience.

| Yup--I have too many projects OTNs, and I just signed up for 2 classes at my fav LYS. All of it begun within the past 2 months--Now, I've moved projects upstairs, downstairs, all over so when I have even a few minutes, I can work on something. But the needles range from 2 to 10, so it's making me nuts! |

I on the other hand she says smugly am in the process of finishing, then she ruins it by saying because in Sep my friend who own lys is bringing my order of diff yarns that I am buying from when we went to yarn market. I can't remember what all I am buying, but I have been saving my money and then I will start 2/3 projects. Either a sweater or the Great Aran afghan and a beautiufl scarf/shawl with some JoJo something yarn. She is also bring my copy of Evely Clark new book. So I am frantically trying to finish some projects. I finished a sweater that I had on the needles on 1 yr and I am now trying to finish the mystern stole #3 and the Jacobean felted tote from Nicky Epstein's Fab Felted Bags on needles 2 yrs, also E Clarks Pac. NW Shawl.

OH. My. Gawd.
I just blogged about it yesty.
But I am trying to be disciplined and knit up the shawl for Mom. I am almost halfway through. And then I will decide what to do next. It will probably be some business knitting, which for some reason does not seem as interesting.....

Out of the 5 UFO's in my workbox I've actually finished one & added another lol. I'm terrible for starting things, everytime I think it's quiet & I start something. Everyone decided that's when they want me to do jobs, go out or craft things. What it is to be popular, can't help wondering if I would be as popular if I didn't craft & said that magic little word occasionally, you know the one we all have trouble saying to family & non crafting friends.....two letters: N,O :-)

I'm fighting tooth and nail against a case of startitis! It seems like I have been working on the Scarf That Would Not End forever - lesson learned - I will never EVER knit a scarf with DK weight yarn again without serious, serious thought. I love the way the scarf looks but I AM SO BORED. Now that the end is in sight, I'm looking at the other projects I want to do, and it's all I can do not to start ALL of them at once!
Must be strong - 12" to go.
(I know, this is a stupid project to be stuck on...what can I say, I'm still new)

I, too, was suffering with this....after some finishing during the summer months...the urge to 'start' was overwhelming....and buying the yarn for the new wonders! Oh my!
I like what Mocha said..."we cast on so that it will be started or it might not ever get going." Works for me!
I even have a scarf "on the go" in the car...a few minutes here and there...

Another very good thought to have in our arsenal of "explanations"....my SO, who is a singer/song writer, often asks what I've finished....this is a great reply....he respects the creative process!

Um , Luann- are you sure you don't mean FINIacrylicITIS???[:00][:00][:00]
Right now, my problem is, I cast on and then don't touch for awhile, forget where the heck I am, misplace the pattern, forget the name of the book, lose my notes, etc.
UFFDAH!
Can't wait to et all re-organised! KL |

Is it the early wiff of autumn in the air that is triggering startitis in knitters or what? I have been resisting the desire to cast on a ridiculous number of projects over the past 2 weeks. I am still, due to health issues, plodding along on projects started months ago yet I am twitching to get going on the Minimalist cardigan from the latest IK in a lovely violet alpaca/cashmere/merino blend yarn. I have also been tempted to cast on a Fair Isle vest, several scarves in various Noro yarns. I need a nice hat for the winter. Perhaps the fact that I brought home 4 knitting magazines in the space of 10 days, VK, IK, Knitter's and Rowan#42, has something to do with this latest bout of startitis. That's it, it's all the fault of the publishers.

I don't really have Startitis now, but I am seriously hoping to catch a good case of finish-itis (I had to hyphenate that or it had the S word in it!) and finish the projects from when I did have startitis. It's not too bad- two sweaters and a pair of socks, but still.
