I'm a beginning spinner. I bought this fiber called Gotland Lamb - it is a beautiful natural gray, soft, lustrous, almost no crimp. The ONLY reason I bought it was because the seller claimed that this is the same fiber that all of the cloaks in Lord of the Rings were made of - hand spun, hand woven. It was not easy to spin (for a beginner) and I ended up with what looked like Lopi.
WHOA, did it felt. It felted WHILE I KNTTED IT. Since I intended to felt it, this was ok. I did some slippers. They were felted hard and fast in about 8 minutes of agitation in hot water. Never saw anything like it.
Thanks for the info. I'll check their company out for some natural yarns. Sometimes it is nice to try different things then you find in the shops. CharRube
