I went to a yarn shop a couple of weeks ago and saw this made and fell in love with it. I bought yarn and the shop person told me to go to Magknits for the pattern, but alas the site says that it has taken everything offline. Does anyone have the pattern that they would be willing to share? Thanks.

Just to add: my 11 year old daughter has now made 2 of these bags. They are fabulous! She made both out of Cascade 220. For the first, she made an i-cord trim around the top, and the for the second, she finished it with a few rows of fun fur. (The second is going to be a gift for a friend.) Great great pattern. I'm so glad the pattern isn't gone forever for others who want to try it.

MagKnits is no longer, but using the link above will give you not only the pattern, but photos as well.

It's a great, fast, easy pattern. I have made two of the bags. For the second one I added a flap and I'm really pleased.

That's a great pattern - the first felted bag I ever made. I used Cascade 220 as well, and knit in a few stripes (single rows) of a novelty yarn. Came out great. The twisted handle is a nice touch, it gives a designer touch to something simple.

Isn't that pattern similar to the Booga bag. The pattern for it is available for free.

I've knit Booga and have sophie, but not yet knit it, and they are different. Booga is a straight sides bag, almost like a grocery bag until you feed the icord through to cinch it in. Sophie has more of a taped to the top shape.
BUT having said that there are several bags that start the same basic way

Looks like the pattern is now being sold for $6.00. You can get it from Black Sheep Bags -

PM me your email I can send it to you. I saved a copy of the free PDF to my computer when it was still on magknits. It was free, I got it while it was still public, so I see no reason why it can't be shared since I'm not benefiting from it in any way.
