I have been knitting to take the stress off due to some personal issues. I have taken on some of the most challenging projects ever! It's been quite gratifiying and satisfying!

I agree that knitting something sort of complicated is great for dealing with stress-exept that I notice later that my stitches are much tighter when I am stressed out, changing my gauge. I have to be mindful of this when I pick up an ongoing project, so often I start something new and small (e.g. a hat or a toy) that I can finish quickly. Then I not only have the therapy that the process provides, but also a finished project that I would not necessarily have tackled otherwise.
