I join for the first time a mystery knitalong. I knew when I receive the yarn it was not for me. I put in mine that what ever it was I would give it to my 18 year old daughter. The yarn was bright orange. The kind you would think it glows in the dark. It turn out to be a hat. I love the pattern and made the hat and gave it to my daughter. I have made this hat in different colors and gave them away. My thought is how do you pick yarn. In knitalong are you going to give choices of color without giving away the mystery. Donna
I join Craftsy knitalong, I was sent the yarn by the designer two weeks before the knit along started. The designer picks the yarn and the pattern and you don't know what it is until she sends the pattern. I did learn a new cast on I just haven't learn yet what it is called. All of this is online if you have a problem the designer and others that are knitting the same pattern will help. Donna
I've heard of the mystery knit-alongs and from time to time have been tempted to join in, but I'm always concerned that I won't like the yarn or pattern. That, and I suppose a wish-list a mile long of things I know I want to knit, have kept me from joining one.
Did you know of the designer before you joined up, Donna? Was she a favorite of yours?
