I've decided that this is the year that my family (DD, DS, DS' girlfriend, my sis) gets fingerless gloves. The first pair I'm knitting is in the "Verdigris" pattern from knitty.com's Summer 2009 issue. My sis attends a number of social functions as part of her job, so they are really 'indoor' gloves, to add to an outfit. I'm using Hempathy hemp yarn in a deep lime green -- one of her favourite colours. I think the other 3 pair will be alike, the Hedgerow pattern, adapted by Amy Ripton from the sock pattern of the same name. Those will all be for outdoor use.
Right now I've just started the gusset on Verdigris mitt #1, so I guess I'd better hop to it, eh?

| I've also decided that this is the holiday season of fingerless gloves. I'm working on my third pair and have two left to go. The first pair ended up being mine since I got distracted and the second one ended up being a bit longer than the first! My pattern came with the yarn I purchased for Misti Alpaca fingerless mittens and is a fast knit. |

| So am I! I've finished a pair of Maine Morning Mitts for my dh, a Meret Beret with matching mitts for my dd and am to the gusset on the first one of a pair of Jacoby mitts. I made the latter an inch-and-a-half longer than it called for, but I may keep them for myself because the yarn is a perfect match to my coat. |
