Knitter's Review
June 14, 2012
Lorna's Laces Shepherds Worsted in a vintage Japanese bowl

Some yarns are like comfort foods. We turn to them when we crave a guaranteed fix—something that's easy and familiar. There's a time for flash and flair, and there's a time for familiarity.

This week I look at one of my favorite comfort yarns. It's hard to believe it went 12 years without being reviewed, but the secret's out. Have you swatched Lorna's Laces Shepherd Worsted yet?

Summer Reading
Ann Shayne is one of my favorite writers in the knitting world. Since 2003 she has brightened our lives as the southernmost voice in the popular knitting blog, Mason-Dixon Knitting. But she recently released her debut novel, Bowling Avenue, and it's fabulous. If you're looking for a good read this summer, look no further.

Columbus in the Spotlight
Much is afoot in Columbus over the next two weeks, and it all takes place at the Columbus Convention Center. This weekend from Friday through Sunday, catch the workshops and marketplace at Knitters Connection. Next weekend, it's trade-only as TNNA hosts its summer show. I'll be there taking notes for you.

In the Forums: Summer Knits
We're doing a little role call in the Forums. What's on your summer needles?
